Cache Creek Trail

Cache Creek Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Cache Creek is a tributary of the South Fork of Fish Creek, located in the Fish Creek drainage in Lolo National Forest. The Cache Creek Trail parallels Cache Creek through a portion of the famous 1910 Great Burn. The wildfire spread from Washington to Montana. Evidence of the burn is still apparent.

The area is a winter range for wildlife and a fall hunting ground. This trail skirts the northwest base of White Mountain along remote Cache Creek, gently gaining elevation through the drainage. The trail continues along the creek for nine miles before ascending another mile and an additional 2,000 feet to Cache Saddle, sitting at 7,200 feet on the Montana–Idaho border."
