Bond Creek Trail at Swan Lake

Missoula, Montana

Bond Creek Trail at Swan Lake Professional Review and Guide

"Bond Lake is nestled in a 5,400-foot mountain basin on the north flank of Spring Slide Mountain in the Swan Range. Bond Creek cascades out of the five-acre lake and tumbles six miles west, dropping 2,300 feet into Swan Lake. The Bond Creek Trail follows the course of the creek six miles to Bond Lake and continues another mile up to Trinkus Lake. This easy hike follows the lower end of the trail through a quiet, thick forest with birch trees, maples, and lichen-draped conifers. A thick riparian understory with ferns, thimbleberry, and Oregon grape blanket the ground. The trail leads to a large, single-log bridge over Bond Creek."
