Blue Mountain National Recreation Trail and Blue Mountain Nature Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Blue Mountain National Recreation Trail is an 8-mile trail that traverses the entire length of the park, from the trailhead at the eastern boundary to the Blue Mountain Lookout at the western boundary. The trail is open to hikers and equestrians only. This hike follows a two-mile section of the trail along a beautiful forested path through ponderosa pine and Douglas fir.

The Blue Mountain Nature Trail is a quarter-mile wheelchair-accessible loop at the east end of this hike. The trail leads to an overlook with a panoramic photograph identifying the surrounding peaks and canyons. (Brochures are available at the trailhead.) The road passes the signed Blue Mountain Nature Trail en route to the trailhead if you prefer to hike only the quarter- mile loop."
