Basic Rattlesnake Loop

Basic Rattlesnake Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This short, but scenic hike is the most basic loop that can be hiked in the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area. It is a perfect introduction to the area. Rattlesnake Creek flows through the heart of this magnificent recreation and wilderness area on the north edge of Missoula.

Snow-melt, high-mountain lakes, and springs feed the 23-mile cascading creek. This hike loops around both sides of the tumbling waterway. Along the way are rocky cliffs, grassland meadows, and a forest of ponderosa pines."
