The Grouse Creek Trail is a 7-mile trail that connects the West Boulder River Valley to the main Boulder River Valley, leading over the plateau between the two drainages. Hike 92 begins from the main Boulder, while this hike begins from the West Boulder, the easier of the hikes up to the scenic plateau. The trail climbs up the east slope of the valley to Nurses Lakes, a series of 1 1 small (and fishless) lakes and ponds. After the grassy wetlands, the trail weaves past Taylor Flat and Burris Flat, crossing the 6,500-foot plateau before descending into the main Boulder Valley between Baker Mountain and Mount Rae.
