Beavertail Hill State Park Trail

Beavertail Hill State Park Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This 0.9-mile loop is located on the cottonwood floodplain of the Clark Fork River above Rock Creek. The park is only 65 acres, but the habitat is rich as the river meanders away from I-90 and into a bend laden with islands. Moose, deer, beaver, and several species of bird inhabit the park.

A campground is also on-site. Beavertail Hill, the mountain to the west, is supposed to look like the silhouette of a beaver. When I-90 was constructed, it chopped off the beaver’s tail, which now lies on the other side of the highway."
