Bear Creek Trail

Bear Creek Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Bear Creek Trail (5) is one of the most scenic hiking trails in the Bitterroot Mountains. The creek erupts into a series of waterfalls at 1.4 miles. Granite slabs serve as platforms and form a bedrock meadow next to the creek, allowing access to the cataracts.

Pinnacle-topped canyon walls pop up above the creek. Big pools, good for swimming in late summer, punctuate calm spots in the whitewater chaos. Go 0.2 mile upstream from the bedrock meadow to find a more secluded falls and pool."
