South Fork Deep Creek Trail

South Fork Deep Creek Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The South Fork Deep Creek Trail follows a narrow, stream-fed canyon to the Deep Creek Divide, a pass between Paradise Valley and the West Boulder drainage. This remote, backcountry hike in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness leads through the deep canyon between Mount Delano and Mount McKnight. After dropping down to the canyon floor, the path crosses and follows the South Fork Deep Creek to the Amphitheater of the South Fork, a spectacular mountain cirque. Beyond the cirque, the trail climbs up the steep valley wall to the Deep Creek Divide, where you are rewarded with spectacular views from high above Deep Creek."
