Scapegoat Mountain

Scapegoat Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"This trail is the showpiece of the Scapegoat Wilderness and travels the alpine fields that sit at the foot of the Scapegoat plateau’s towering walls. Wildlife is abundant along this route. Elk and mule deer summer among the subalpine fir of the high basins, and mountain goats are at home on the stony walls of Scapegoat Mountain.

Marmots and pikas can often be spotted among the loose boulders below the cliffs. Tread with care on the alpine meadows near Scapegoat, as they are easily damaged by off-trail wanderings."
