Jackson Hot Springs Resort

Jackson Hot Springs Resort Professional Review and Guide

"This is a cavernous, rustic lodge and outdoor warm-water pool in the heart of the Big Hole Valley. The 137-degree-F hot springs are located 1,300 feet east of the lodge and are piped underground to the town of Jackson. The water is almost odorless, with no trace of sulfur smell.

The entire town of Jackson depends on the hot springs for its water source, which makes life a little difficult if you want a really cold glass of water. Until fairly recently, residents and guests in Jackson had only hot water available from the tap. Cold water for drinking was produced by placing a jug of hot springs water in the refrigerator and waiting for it to cool. Showers were even more exciting. Guests at the lodge were each given a bag of ice to hang under the showerhead so that the hot water from the springs had a brief chance to cool before it hit their skin."
