Heart Lake

Heart Lake Professional Review and Guide

"An easily accessible lake for family fun in the southern tip of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. It’s 4.1 miles to Heart Lake, 6.7 miles to Webb Lake, and about 9 to Parker Lake. You
can take a trail to the right just before Parker Lake to Two Point Lake.

Heart Lake is the nicest of the bunch.Webb Lake is small and shallow. Parker Lake is very scenic but also shallow compared to Heart Lake. Two Point is away from the trail and surrounded by forest, more so than the rest of the lakes. It’s hard to fly-fish at all of these lakes—no place for the back cast. Trail 481 gets a lot of horse traffic."

This trail is a very nice hike in the mountains. It is definitely recommended for those hikers who are used to elevation gains. You have some pretty decent elevation changes going in and coming back out that will test your conditioning. You will be rewarded with a nice area to catch some nice pan-sized trout. I found plenty of fish in the first two lakes even though the hiking guide said that the first, bigger of the lakes, didn't have any fish in it. Also, from my own personal experience, the first lake has two nice areas for camping there for the night.I highly recommend this hike!
