Great Falls and Vicinity Professional Review and Guide
"Giant Springs State Park is a good place to start birding when in Great Falls. From 10th Ave south, follow River Road east and turn north on Giant Springs Road. The park-like lawns and tall trees bordering the south bank of the Missouri River act as a magnet for birdlife.
Species likely to be found in the manicured park include American Kestrel, Great Horned Owl, Downy Woodpecker, Black-capped Chickadee, American Robin, House Wren, and Bullock's Oriole. Along the Missouri River look and listen for American White Pelican, Canada Goose, Mallard, Common Merganser, American Coot, California Gull, Belted Kingfisher, and Cliff Swallow."
