Best Backpacking Vacations in the Northern Rockies

This is a long backpacking expedition for experienced hikers into the most remote section of Glacier National Park. Many trails in Glacier Park are heavily used. Others receive surprisingly little use, although they host as many backcountry rewards. The Nyack Loop is an excellent example of the latter.

Keep in mind, though, that if you plan to ford the river to access the Nyack Creek and Coal Creek trailheads, you have to wait until August to take this trip. Special attractions: A rare opportunity to get away from everything (and everybody) and into the heart of true wilderness.
