"A day hike from Bowman Campground to Numa Ridge Lookout, 5.6 miles (9 km) one- way. Numa Ridge Lookout is one of the easiest lookouts to reach in the park. The trail climbs 3,000 feet over the course of 5 miles, through a loose forest on the flanks of Numa Ridge that affords initial glimpses of Bowman Lake, and later of Rainbow Peak and Cerulean Ridge on the far side of the valley. After a long grade of steady climbing interspersed with level traverses, the trail emerges at a swampy saddle, which is good habitat for northern bog lemmings."
