Corwin Springs - La Duke Hot Springs

Corwin Springs - La Duke Hot Springs Professional Review and Guide

"Scalding hot springs that flow down a steep bank into the Yellowstone River. A bathhouse was built near the springs in the 1900s. In early times the water was piped 2 miles down the river to the elegant Corwin Springs Hotel and Sanitarium, which burned in 1916.

Both the La Duke Springs bathhouse and the Corwin Springs Hotel depended on the same source of hot water, which collects in the holding tank south of the La Duke Springs Picnic Area. The springs emerge at a steamy 154 degrees F, flow into the holding tank, and then travel under the highway and into the Yellowstone River. Primitive at the springs, with the ruins of the old resort building about 2 miles north."
