Hyalite Canyon Professional Review and Guide

"Hyalite Canyon is a beautiful area with easy access and varied recreational opportunities. Care has been taken to preserve the pristine nature of the resource. The Gallatin Empire Lion’s Club, the Forest Service, and other community organizations cooperated to create the Hyalite Challenge Project. This successful joint effort has made a number of sites accessible to all people including those with disabilities, families with small children, and senior citizens. The offerings include four wheelchair-accessible trails and accessible picnic tables and toilets.

Hyalite Canyon is an area families can take a week to explore or a place they can visit frequently for an afternoon or day of outdoor fun. The close proximity to the city means that a Hyalite Canyon nature experience will be shared with numerous other people. This eTrail provides detailed information on family-friendly things to do. The destinations include: Lingohr Campground and Hyalite Creek Recreation Trail, History Rock Trail 424, Hyalite Reservoir, Blackmore Recreation Trail, West Shore Trail 413 and Crescent Lake Trail 213, Palisade Falls National Recreation Trail, Grotto Falls and Hyalite Creek Trail 427, and Horsetail Falls via the Emerald Lake Trail 434."
