Red Rock River

Red Rock River Professional Review and Guide

"Small, windy and remote, the Red Rock River originates in one of Montana's most scenic high-altitude valleys. It is Class I its entire length. If you’re bothered by the heavy traffic on the upper Beaverhead, try driving a little farther south to the Red Rock River. This little-known stream, which empties into Clark Canyon Reservoir, receives only modest floating pressure.

Between Lima and Clark Canyon, the Red Rock closely resembles the Beaverhead, both in scenery and fishing. It’s a little smaller, but it turns and twists in the same distinctive fashion and has similar outstanding trout habitat. Don’t forget that the section between Upper and Lower Red Rock Lakes is closed to fishing."
