Dolus Lakes

Dolus Lakes Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A fairly easy hike to two forested lakes. You can catch pan-size cutthroats in both lakes, but the shoreline is brushy, so watch your ack cast. You can find a few campsites at both lakes that aren’t heavily used because most people day hike into Dolus Lakes instead of staying overnight. If you camp, you’ll probably have the place to yourself that night."

"This is a fairly easy day hike or overnighter to two forested lakes. From Rock Creek Lake the trail climbs steeply with a few switchbacks to the junction with Doney Lake Trail 138 half a mile later. This is the toughest part of the hike. After your turn left (west) at this junction, the trail flattens out and follows an old mining ditch in places as it more gradually climbs to the lower lake. The trail is well defined all the way but gets rocky in places. The trail between the first two lakes is less defined and brushy but still fairly easy to follow."
