Three Frogs Campground

Three Frogs Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This newly reconstructed campground, with 16 small-trailer sites and 4 walk-in sites, is definitely as tent friendly as its predecessor, the Upper Como Lake Campground. With the 9,000-foot-plus El Capitan and Como Peaks reflecting in the water and access to the recreational facilities on Lake Como all within walking distance, this is a busy location, so arriving here midweek may be your best bet for securing a choice spot.

Set among thick stands of lodgepole pine and fir, sites here are spacious and level, even though the campground road climbs a bit as you make your way along the one-way loop road. There’s no water within the interior of the campground, so be sure to look for the available spigots off to the right just before the fee sign at the trailhead near site 1, or you can fill up in the lower campground."
