Rock Creek

Rock Creek Professional Review and Guide

"The Rock Creek drainage is home to an abundance of wildlife—moose, elk, and white-tailed deer. The main attraction is its lakes, most of which offer good campsites and fishing.

Formerly a thoroughfare into the Selway River country beginning in the 1880s, the connecting Paradise Creek Trail (522) and is no longer maintained beyond Bell Lake."

Great easy trail to Bass Lake. Beautiful view over Bass Lake pass looking into Kootenai. Trail into Kootenai is awful. Very overgrown - lost numerous times (had map and gps too). Would not recomend - but if you HAVE to do it, go from the Bass lake side. Good luck and plan on 3-4 hours for the 4 mile trek from Bass Lake to the Kootenai trail.
