Lower Lake Fork Trail Lake Fork of Rock Creek Professional Review and Guide
"The Lower Lake Fork Trail follows the raging whitewater of the Lake Fork just above its confluence with Rock Creek. The easy, well-defined path stays on the south bank of the creek, passing cascades, pools, and small waterfalls. The trail begins near the Lions Youth Camp in a forest of lodgepole pines and aspen between Black Pyramid Mountain and Tolman Point. Moose are often spotted in the area. During the winter, the Lake Fork Canyon is a popular cross-country ski area.
Descend from either end of the parking area towards the creek. Cross the wooden bridge over the Lake Fork of Rock Creek, and head upstream to the right. The forested path, carpeted with pine needles, follows the watercourse of the cascading Lake Fork. To add another half mile to the hike, continue following the creek downstream."
