Swan River

Swan River Professional Review and Guide

"The Swan River begins high in the Mission Mountains, twisting and turning through verdant forests, magnificent vistas, and some of Montana’s most rugged country. The entire river system is just under 100 miles long including lakes, but most anglers concentrate on the 60-mile stretch from Lindbergh Lake to Swan Lake.

Types of Fish: Westslope Cutthroat, Rainbow, Bull and Brook Trout, Pike, Whitefish. This fly-fishing chapter describes the "where, when, and how" for fishing in this area. It includes a full-page map and information on the known hatches, suggested equipment to use, the best flies to use, season, limits, nearby accommodations, and camping."
