Impasse Falls, via East Rosebud Cascades and Martin Falls

Impasse Falls, via East Rosebud Cascades and Martin Falls Professional Review and Guide

"East Rosebud Creek Trail is a popular backpacking route that heads into the heart of the Beartooth Mountains, the tallest peaks in the state. It’s a long but worthwhile trek to Impasse Falls, one of Montana’s finest waterfalls. There are so many interesting features along the way that it’s easy to overlook the considerable climbing and distance. From start to finish, a new wonder lies around each bend of the trail.

While the first few miles cross open terrain scorched by the Shepard Mountain Fire of 1996, you encounter more and more live timber and lush vegetation with each mile you hike. This trek is ideal for three or more days of backpacking, and there are many campsites to choose from at the numerous lakes and waterfalls along the way. Check the special regulations for camping near waterways in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness."
