Hyalite Creek Trail to Hyalite Lake

Hyalite Creek Trail to Hyalite Lake Professional Review and Guide

"The Hyalite Creek Trail is the premier hike in the entire Bozeman area. The trail passes eleven waterfalls in a deep canyon with massive cliff walls and majestic peaks.

The hike ends at Hyalite Lake, a high mountain alpine lake in a horseshoe-shaped basin. The lake is surrounded by the craggy peaks of Fridley Peak and Hyalite Peak."

Lots of snow for mid-June. We lost the trail at times. The snow and a hot day resulted in a higher than normal creek. Nothing dangerous, but the "skipping from rock to rock" didn't happen for us because those rocks were covered by water. Beautiful hike. The detour for Silken Skein falls is worth the time as you are able to get right under the falls and have a gorgeous view of the valley.

Beautiful trail filled with waterfeatures. Will require that you be in basic physical condition to make it to the lake at the top. Views of the valley are stunning as is the high mountain bowl. If you set aside the time, the peak is a further 2 miles up from the lake.
