Rugged, windy, cold, and strikingly beautiful. This peak is hidden from view for the first ~9miles of the hike, until you surmount a ridge and the jagged ridgeline captures your attention. This isn't really a hike, more of a scramble that requires a detailed route description. W/o the description you will undoubtably encounter some lower fifth class terrain with huge exposure that will scare most hikers and force a hasty retreat. If you enjoy exposure and challenge this is a great weekend trip. Be sure to take a sturdy tent and be prepared for high winds and precipitation on Frozen to Death Plateau.

HIKING----PEAK-BAG. Difficult trail to a high and exposed peak. Not for the beginner, although this is a highly used area. Some mountaineering skills are required depending on season. Spectacular views and worth the effort for the seasoned hiker.

I thought the hike was very difficult. Bad weather can appear out of nowhere, be prepared for instant thunderstorms.
