Swan Creek Campground

Swan Creek Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Tucked between the Madison and Gallatin ranges, US 191 follows the spectacular narrow canyon that winds alongside the Gallatin River from Bozeman to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Driving this route is a study in contrasts, from the historic but closed Gallatin Gateway Hotel, built by the Milwaukee Road in the 1920s, to the sprawling development of the town and ski resort of Big Sky.

Guided trips are prevalent due to the technical difficulty, and outfitters are available in Big Sky and Bozeman. Taking some time to fish on this blue-ribbon trout stream is always a good choice. It offers enough mountain whitefish and rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and brook trout to challenge and delight any angler."
