Lee Ridge

Lee Ridge Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A day hike from MT 17 to the Gable Pass trail junction, 5.9 miles (9.5 km) one- way; or backpack from MT 17 to Slide Lake campground, 8.4 miles (13.5 km) one- way.

Lee Ridge offers an alternate route to Gable Pass and Slide Lake that does not require a tribal permit, and recent improvements make this trail much easier to find at its starting point. This long and steady climb through the trees rewards hikers with breathtaking views above the timberline, and the trail disappears for the last half mile, offering some route- finding challenges. Water is scarce along this trail, particularly during the height of summer, so be sure to carry plenty of your own."
