This hike travels the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail from Rocky Springs Recreation Area, rolling over hills along the Natchez Trace Parkway to end at a pair of waterfalls. The first waterfall is a tributary of Owens Creek. Leave the picnic area, joining a spur of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail, dropping into classic pine-oak woodland. Needles and cones line the track. Ferns and cane are prominent underbrush elements. Cross a couple of small drainages and then ascend a hill. Reach the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail. Stay left, southbound. The path comes alongside private timbered lands on the park boundary, to soon bridge a stream.
