Magnolia Trail at Saint Catherine Creek National Wildlife Refuge Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This hiking trail, composed of three loops, meets one of the stated goals of Saint Catherine Creek National Wildlife Refuge “to provide opportunities for wildlife oriented recreation and environmental education.” This trail system may be expanded by the time you get here, connecting to the relocated refuge headquarters, north of the trail’s most northerly loop.
From the main trailhead, begin hiking on a wide gravel track bordered by grass. Soon reach your first junction. Stay right here. The other way will be your return route. The path shortly becomes shaded. Pass the cypress overlook—it is an observation area to the right of the trail where you can peer into a swampy wetland. The trailside trees have signs identifying them. Stay right at the next junction, climbing into the Loess Hills."
