Richardson Creek/Mills Branch Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This trek rambles along the southern section of the Clear Springs Recreation Area, combining the Richardson Creek Trail and the Mills Branch Trail with a little stretch of the Tallys Creek Trail thrown in to create a rewarding loop that passes by streamside bluffs, small falls, and secluded forest scenery. The trails of this area were the second phase of the Clear Springs Trail Complex construction, first laid out in the late 1980s.
This second portion was finished in the 1990s. The terrain is carved with many hills and hollows and the hike reflects it, with numerous undulations, sometimes winding “worser than a snake.” Consider combining this loop with the Tallys Creek Loop for a multi-night backpacking trip. Overnighting at Clear Springs Lake Campground is a second option."
