North Noxubee Hills Loop Professional Review and Guide
"This is a challenging hike utilizing a mix of paths in the Noxubee Hills trail system. It explores bottomland terrain as well as hilly country while circling the greater Noxubee River Valley, which is a good wildflower destination. The Noxubee trail system was the hard work of volunteers in cooperation with national forest personnel. Join the singletrack Beaver Lodge Trail as it courses through a fire-managed pine forest, shortly crossing an intermittent streambed. Note how the forest is thicker around the moist ravine. The level trekking is a breeze as you enjoy the pines mixed with sweetgum and a few oaks. The lower areas will have more hard-woods. Bridge a second streambed, continuing southeasterly, now nearing the lush Noxubee River bottoms. Swamps, beaver dams, and beaver lodges are visible to your right."
