Audubon Trail

Audubon Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This 13-mile loop is very difficult in some places, and it is not recommended for beginners. Some short unrideable sections will require portages. These are usually the steeper sections, where the trail runs straight downhill without switchbacks. Erosion and trail use have turned these steep pitches into loose rock, making ascents and descents fairly technical.

But don't worry about this ride being all sweat and no fun. In addition to the tougher single-track, the loop makes use of abandoned logging roads that are little more sedate. This trail is located 5 miles north of Womack."

Spring and fall are the best seasons to ride the Audubon Trail. Summer riding can be fun when combined with dips in Bidwell and Coldwater Creeks, but insects and ticks may be a problem.
