Ozark Trail: Courtois Section Professional Review and Guide
"On this little-traveled secton of the Ozark Trail you'll edge along riverside bluffs, meander along breezy highlands, and visit The Narrows, a skinny ridge dividing the Huzzah and Courtois valleys. This 9-mile stretch of the Courtois Section of the Ozark Trail has a little of everything - single-track trail, some old roads, stream crossings, vistas from breezy ridgetops, bluffs, caves, and mixed pine and deciduous forests. For overnighters there are campgrounds at Onondaga Cave State Park, Ozark Outdoors, and at the south trailhead in Huzzah Conservation Area. If you prefer roughing it smoothly, Ozark Outdoors, located next to the north trailhead, offers cabin rentals and shuttles. If you burn out on hiking, you can rent canoes and tubes and float the wide and lazy Meramec River or the more intimate and challenging Huzzah and Courtois creeks. Scenery: Ridgetop cistas and riberside bluffs."
