Laumeier Sculpture Park

Laumeier Sculpture Park Professional Review and Guide

"Founded in 1976, Laumeier Sculpture Park was among the first contemporary sculpture parks in the United States. Created from the estate of millionaires Henry and Matilda Laumeier, it exhibits and preserves large-scale outdoor sculpture in a natural setting. Some consider Laumeier the world’s premier park for site sculpture.

In this ninety-six-acre St. Louis County park, you will find sculptures along hiking trails in peaceful woodlands, by paved walking paths, and in expansive, sun-drenched meadows. Smaller works in other media—such as ceramics, painting and photography—also are on display in the Laumeier museum galleries. Special attractions: Modern art displayed in a park setting on the grounds of an old estate."

This is a fun walk if you are interested in some classic artwork. This would be a great place to take the kids.
