Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge (Mound City), MO Professional Review and Guide

"Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge is part of the National Wildlife Refuge System, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Established in 1935, it provides more than 7,000 acres of man-made marshes where waterfowl and other creatures can find food, water, and shelter. The refuge is located 5 miles south of Mound City, a town that gets its name from the loess mounds that bound Squaw Creek to the east.
