Taum Sauk Mountain State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"With 7,500 acres in the rocky, rugged St. Francois Mountains, Taum Sauk Mountain State Park, the highest point in the state, is one of Missouri’s newest and most scenic parks. This primitive, quiet campground is situated a few hundred yards from the High Point on a fairly flat part of the rounded top of the mountain.
Far from any major city and at the end of a dead-end highway, Taum Sauk Mountain State Park’s campground is remote and peaceful. Unlike most state parks, the campground is undeveloped, uncrowded, and rustic: in other words, ideal for tent campers."
