Trail of the Four Winds

Trail of the Four Winds Professional Review and Guide

"Located on the edge of the Lake of the Ozarks, the Trail of the Four Winds is perfect for beginners. Most grades on this now 15-mile trail system are gentle. The trail surface is a combination of single-track and old roads.

Those who find the trail too difficult can exit the system by following the bisecting trail, an easy-to-ride road, from the back of the system to the trailhead. These trails are located in the Lake of the Ozarks State Park."

This was a very long hike, beautiful scenery and great places to stop for lunch! Bring lots of water, 3 liters was not nearly enough! So many ticks! We went through an entire can of OFF and they weren't phased!

Trail Type
Spring and fall are the best times to ride this trail. When followed by a dip in the nearby lake, summer riding can be also fun. In winter, with the summer crowds gone, you will have to the trail to yourself, and there are no stream crossings to freeze your feet.
