Amidon Memorial Conservation Area

Amidon Memorial Conservation Area Professional Review and Guide

"Amidon Memorial Conservation Area’s Cedar Glade Trail takes you to the only pink-granite shut-ins in Missouri, then crosses glade restorations with expansive views.

The Cedar Glade Trail at Amidon Memorial Conservation Area is a short one, but what it lacks in distance, it more than makes up for in scenic beauty and historical interest."

"Amidon Memorial Conservation Area offers one of the only granite shut-ins in Missouri. The pink granite rocks make the area a popular swimming hole during the summer, and the 1.0-mile Cedar Glade Trail explores some of the more interesting features in the area.

Located in Bollinger and Madison Counties, the 1,632-acre Amidon Memorial Conservation Area is a fantastic destination almost any time of year. Locally the area is often referred to as either Pink Rocks or Hahns Mill. The first nickname obviously refers to the main geological feature in the area, while Hahns Mill refers to the area’s history as a grain mill in the late 1800s."
