Boonslick Country: Columbia to Arrow Rock, MO Professional Review and Guide

"A 55-mile drive beginning in Columbia and heading west across the northern edge of the Ozarks through historic towns and trails. This drive skirts along the northern edge of the Ozarks over a landscape that was once buried under a massive glacier. This is the only part of the Ozarks that was glaciated, and that occurred more than 950,000 years ago. Traditionally, this has been called the Kansan glacial period, the second in a series of four major ice advances over the three-million-year period called the Ice Age. Each period was named after the present-day states where these glacial fronts pretty much ended.

Special attractions: Rock Bridge State Park, Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area, Columbia, Rocheport, Les Bourgeois Vineyards, Diana Bend, Katy Trail State Park, Old Franklin State Historic Site, New Franklin, Boone’s Lick State Historic Site, Missouri River, Santa Fe Trail, Boonville, and Arrow Rock; scenic views, hiking, camping, boating, fishing, hunting, fall colors, and wildlife viewing."
