Hawn State Park Professional Review and Guide

"Hiking the Whispering Pine Trail, you’ll enjoy panoramic vistas from windswept overlooks, admire impressive sandstone bluffs, relax beside waterfalls and cascades on Pickle Creek, and be calmed by the trail’s namesake majestic stands of pines sighing in the breeze.

Home to one of the most popular trails in Missouri, Hawn State Park is a hiker's dream. The park is named for Helen Coffer Hawn. You'll wander through thick strands of the of the trail's namesake shortleaf pines, meander along clear, quiet streams and admire rushing waterfalls."

Turkey Ridge Trail was very nice for a quick hike. Easy to access from 109. Unfortunately Rockwoods doesn't allow pets and I like to hike with my dog.

Trail was in very good condition. We liked how the trail was not too obvious, sometimes we had to stop and make sure we were still on it but never got lost. Not terribly difficult but there were some climbs/hills which was nice, it keept us active and on our toes so it never got boring. Not so far from the city that the drive was long, but far enough that the trail traffic was low and you actually felt like you weren't in town anymore.
