Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This loop hike takes you through the Weldon Spring Conservation Area at the northern tip of the Ozark Plateau. Towering limestone bluffs offering excellent views of the Missouri River, an abundance of wildlife, and easy access from Saint Louis combine to make for an ideal day trip.

Located in Saint Charles County, the 8,359-acre Weldon Spring Conservation Area offers a variety of natural features, including large plots of forests, tall limestone bluffs, wetlands, glades, pastures, and some agricultural lands. This combination of habitats makes for a diverse collection of flora and fauna in the area, despite a close proximity to the city."
