"Here's a stretch of river for those looking for a peaceful, wooded route that is runnable even when the water is low. Keep an eye out for songbirds, waterfowl, kingfishers, herons, beavers, and even river otters.

Plan on a slow, languid meander through wooded bottomlands. The only rapids of note are a bouldery Class I pitch above I-35 and another 0.5 mile below. With several campsites available and little chance of dumping your gear, this is a good stretch for an overnight trip."
