Stony Point Campground Professional Review and Guide
"Stony Point benefits from its location on one of Minnesota’s most popular fishing lakes, Leech Lake, and its presence in a stand of old- growth, something not found many places anymore. Some of the elm, maple, oak, and ash trees are more than 200 years old, and a hiking trail meanders through them, connecting with trails like the Paul Bunyan State trail and the Heartland Trail, both great for hiking and biking.
This is a popular campground and day-use area, and should be reserved well in advance. A recent change in policy has made all sites reservable, whereas in the past a few sites were held for first- come, first- served campers. Sites are comfortably spaced, with some near Leech Lake. Pets are allowed."
