Pfeiffer Lake Campground

Pfeiffer Lake Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Pfeiffer Lake is a good spot for catching walleye, perch, and bass, which can be caught from shore or from the fishing dock. (Note: The lake itself has restrictions on boating because it is a loon nesting area.) Its winding shoreline is fun for canoers and kayakers. There’s a decent grassy beach and access to the Pfeiffer Lake Trail for hikers. Campsites are well spaced and heavily wooded. Pets are allowed.

This part of the state is one of the most scenic and beloved areas in Minnesota. It’s also steeped in history. Originally settled by the Ojibwe, the northeast area was soon discovered by Europeans who came looking for trade routes and posts. Fur trading was a booming business until the mid-1800s, when the traders and trappers moved farther west to the Mississippi headwaters area."
