Bear Head Lake State Park

Bear Head Lake State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Bear Head Lake State Park is located in Minnesota Northwoods lake country. Bald eagles and osprey nest high in the pines, while deer, black bear, and moose sip from the water’s edge. Several miles of hiking trails loop through Bear Head Lake State Park.

One of the trails even hooks up with the multi-use Taconite State Trail that extends 165 miles from Grand Rapids to Ely. The hike featured here consists of two connected loops. It passes through white and red pine–covered hills and valleys. The west loop encircles tiny Norberg Lake and skirts the shore of Bear Head Lake’s east bay, while the east loop encircles even tinier Becky Lake."
