Red Robe Classic Ride

Red Robe Classic Ride Professional Review and Guide

"With an abundance of aspen parklands and river bottom marshes running between acres of wheat, you will find a mix of scenery on this ride. It leaves from Thief River Falls at Chief Red Robe Park, at the confluence of the Thief and Red Lake Rivers. The park is named in honor of Chief Meskokonaye, and the statue of the chief looks out over the two rivers. The same site where his village once stood.

The route takes you east along county roads passing acres of farm fields until reaching the river crossing at High Landing. Circling back to the west, your journey will take you to the lower Red Lake River to Old Treaty Crossing Park. Now riding north up the west side of the river, pass a railroad town named after a French statesman and author, before returning to the town the Ojibwe called "thieving land river.""
