Interstate State Park

Interstate State Park Professional Review and Guide

"Located along the St. Croix River, this park has plenty of boating opportunities, but its unique geology is also a major attraction. The dramatic river bluffs make for adventurous hiking (keep a close watch on children), and include formations known as glacial potholes, which are fascinating to see (with interpretive signs that explain them). There are 4 miles of hiking trails that explore the rugged terrain overlooking the river.

Rock climbing is also a popular activity here. While the park is beautiful, it’s also situated along a major highway that’s close to the campground, so expect high noise levels. The campsites are fairly close together as well, with not as much privacy as at some of the other state parks. Pets are allowed."
