St Louis River-MN 23 to Duluth Harbor

St. Louis River-MN 23 to Duluth Harbor Professional Review and Guide

"In its final miles, the St. Louis spreads into a broad estuary containing backwaters and islands. From the dam downstream, the river spreads out into a broad estuary known initially as Spirit Lake and farther downstream as St. Louis Bay. At its mouth, the estuary forms the busy Lake Superior harbor of Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin. Land surrounding the river rises in distant hills. The mouths of small tributary streams form channels for paddlers to explore.

The fishery of this stretch of the St. Louis includes smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, lake sturgeon, and even an occasionally muskie. A popular place to fish is the swift water below the Fond du Lac Dam."

Class of most rapids id say a 0-1. This is for inexperienced people. Lady in our raft thought this was a ride. Its not! You are part of your team n everyone WILL PADDLE! They spend alot of ur time teaching u what u will do. Its fun for those who have never experienced white water. There's nothing to fear at all. They hype the rapids more before ur out there then what its really like. Experienced rafters will be dissappointed. But those who havent will love it n you will be safe with these people. They were good!
