William O’Brien State Park

William O’Brien State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Set amid the rolling countryside along the St. Croix River, this park has plenty of recreation to offer. The river is a good source of walleye, bass, northern pike, and trout, and it’s also a favorite of canoers.

There are 12 miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails, as well as 12 miles of skate-skiing trails, that take visitors through forests and prairies. Wildlife is rampant here, and bird- watchers have plenty to look for. Naturalist programs are offered year- round. Campsites are well spaced and heavily wooded, offering plenty of privacy. Pets are allowed."
