Old Wadena Park Campground

Old Wadena Park Campground Professional Review and Guide

"This historic park is at the mouths of the Leaf and Partridge Rivers, both tributaries of the Crow Wing River. A fur trading post built here in 1783 was the site of a battle between traders and the Sioux, who wanted access to their hunting grounds. There are several hiking trails and a bogwalk on- site, as well as access to the rivers.

Minnesota may be best known for its northeast corner along Lake Superior, and certainly that’s a strikingly beautiful place, but the northwest part of the state, while very different in terrain and feel, has great beauty as well. Even better, it has excellent outdoor recreational opportunities."
